Background
C. M. Jewell & Associates Pty Ltd was commissioned by the owner of the property to investigate soil and groundwater contamination prior to redevelopment, and retained to provide waste classification and site validation sampling services during the site redevelopment process.

Hydrogeological Environment
Fill material overlying Botany Sands.

Contaminants
Heavy metals, petroleum hydrocarbons and PAH were identified on site.

Objectives and Scope
A Stage 1 study, comprising a historical, geological and hydrogeological review and a walk over assessment were completed.

A detailed Stage 2 involving soil sampling, installation of groundwater monitoring wells, and groundwater sampling was completed.

A Remediation Action Plan was prepared and the site remediated and validated for its proposed use, which was high density residential, with minimal opportunity for soil access.PDF version of this project
